Lonsdale Financial Group (Lonsdale) is pleased to announce that Girls from Oz (g-oz) will be our official charity partner at this year’s Lonsdale and IOOF Alliances Annual Conference in the Hunter Valley, 16 – 19 October.
g-oz focuses on providing education and employment pathways for Indigenous females in remote areas of Australia. These girls and young women live in towns where there is a high dependency on welfare, very poor school attendance and low levels of school completion, lack of opportunities, and in general a low quality of life.
Our contributions will enable g-oz to continue to run and expand their performing arts program which engages young girls within these communities, encourages attendance at school, and inspires them to complete school and move on to higher education or employment.
Nicole Muir, Director and Chair at g-oz, along with three team members will be joining us at the conference close to introduce the charity and their work and challenge us to get our musical hats on as part of a theatrical conference close.
Nicole has confirmed that every dollar raised by us will go directly to program delivery as overheads and administration are expenses that are covered by their charity partner, the Australian School of Performing Arts.
We are looking forward to partnering with g-oz and encourage our Lonsdale and IOOF Alliances community to get behind their valuable work.
